Theresa Matthews is the eldest daughter of the founder, Ann Daugherty.

She has been employed at Tara Treatment Center, Inc. since its inception in 1985. Theresa has held many positions and has been instrumental in the development of each level of care.

She received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing at Indiana University and her Master's in Business Management at Indiana Wesleyan in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2003. Licensure and Certification: Theresa is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor and an Advanced Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist (ACRPS) through Terence Gorski’s Relapse Prevention School.

Theresa is a 1998 graduate of Leadership Johnson County.

She was chosen as an Honoree for the 2006 Speaking of Women’s Health. The women honored reflect individuals who have enhanced the quality of life in the community through their efforts in the field of women’s health.
